International Call for Solutions on Open Innovation for Smart and Inclusive Cities
Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (FGB), Open Incet and FabriQ launch the 2017 International Call for Solutions on Open Innovation for Smart and Inclusive Cities, targeted at innovators and entrepreneurs.
We are looking for new technologies, products and platforms aimed at promoting economic, environmental and social sustainability in cities.
Submit your technology, company, or project for review by investment, city administrators, and industry leadership. Top ranked submissions will be offered an opportunity to showcase and present their solutions to investment, city, and industry prospectors.
Submission into this Call is free.
The best 20 solutions will be displayed on the European Open Innovation Platform and on the Open Innovation Summit 2017 Opportunity Report, distributed to a large network of key stekeholders.
The best 10 solutions will also be invited to display in the Tech Demonstrator in the Open Incet Center in Turin at their own expenses.
The winner of the Call will be awarded 5.000 € cash.
Additional awards include:
- 4 two-month acceleration programs at FabriQ in Milan and Open Incet in Turin.
- 1 free StartUp Pass for BLAST 2017.

In addition to the contact information, the provided information may be made available to selection Committee and Global Innovation Summit's attendees if organization is invited to participate in program. Please do not include any confidential or proprietary information in your submissions details.
The organisers are looking for working prototypes of innovations addressing one or more of the following areas:

The assessment will be carried out according to the following criteria:
Relevance – relevance to the topics of the call.
Vision – potential to create real positive impact.
Innovation – the degree of innovativeness in relation to existing technologies.
Feasibility – the presence of obstacles to the implementation and of a strategy on how to overcome them.
Scalability and replicability – the possibility to scale up the idea internationally and/or export it to other local communities.
Interoperability – possibility to work with other products or systems, present or future, in either implementation or access, without any restrictions
A list with 20 top ranked solutions will be published soon after selection procedure on this website.
The best 10 solutions will also be invited to display in the Tech Demonstrator in the Open Incet Center in Turin at their own expenses starting from the Open Innovation Summit that will be held from 5 to 7 April 2017 in Turin, Italy.
Attendees of the Open Innovation Summit include city leadership, corporate executives, project finance investors, technology developers, members of the media and implementers addressing a wide range of Smart City technologies and solutions.
The Tech Demonstrator is a 360 sq. m (W) by 9m (H) open space at Open Incet in Turin. Private visits for VIP guests will be organised to the Technology Demonstrator, together with one to one meetings with the selected innovators.
Among the 20 top ranked solutions a jury of experts will select 4 proposals that during application manifested the interest in following a two-months period of acceleration at FabriQ in Milan or Open Incet in Turin,

The best 10 solutions will have access to an exhibition space in the Tech Demonstrator, please specify in the section "NEXT STEP" what are your needs in terms of logistics (i.e. squared meters, tables, chairs, etc.) and any additional special requirements (i.e. monitor/s, wireless connection, network sensors, etc.). Those who will not indicate those requirements in the application will be automatically excluded from the competition.
