Gillian Alonso Arruda
Ms Alonso has an extensive career as an entrepreneur in graduate and post-graduate technological education related to nutrition and health in many cities in Brazil, as well as a trainer and consultant on institutional catering, nutrition and food security (including the HACCP approach) and an active trade unionist and syndicated dietitian. A nutritionist and PhD on Public Health by the São Paulo University (where she still teaches), Ms. Alonso is director of the Institute for Specialized Research and Training and coordinated graduate courses in health and nutrition. She edited, wrote and distributed several technical publications, and she contributes to various professional bodies such as Brazil’s Nutrition Council and the State councils of São Paulo, Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul. She is currently a Board member of Sao Paulo City’s Council on Food and Nutrition Security, a consultant to the FNN National Nutritionist Federation and a consultant to the National Confederation of Registered Graduate Liberal Professionals (CNTU).
